Case study

Standing seam wall cladding

  1. The brief

A two storey elevation clad as a single surface, with openings cut into it. Full height pans mean no horizontal joint anywhere, which puts all the pressure on the reveals.

  2. What we did

Pans run floor to parapet in one length, so the only joints on the wall are the seams themselves. Heads, jambs and sills were folded from the same coil and installed as the pans went up rather than trimmed afterwards.

  3. The detail

Every opening sits on a seam line. Setting the module out before fabrication meant no pan had to be cut to a stub width at a window, and no reveal has a joint in the middle of it.
