Our story

A family business
with European roots.

More than sixty years and three generations of roofers.

Roofing Group was founded in Sydney in 2008 on a legacy that spans more than sixty years and three generations of roofers. As a family business, we bring more than 50 years of roofing experience to every project, and we keep the traditions that shaped our craft.

Our story began with our founder's experience in Europe, where zinc and copper roofs are a standard building material. We combine that European expertise with local knowledge, and it shows in the technical detail of every roof and facade we build.

Our portfolio includes government buildings, high end homes and commercial spaces across Sydney. We are most valued on complex and bespoke projects, where solving difficult design and construction problems sets us apart.

We build client relationships on transparency and open communication. Every project is a collaboration, and our reliability is why so many builders and architects come back.

Set the standard.

We want Roofing Group to be the benchmark that architectural roofing and cladding in Australia is measured against.

When an architect creates an architectural roofing or cladding design, we want the reference they reach for to be a Roofing Group project.

We hold every job to that standard, from a family home to a hospital, an airport or a government building. The detail is resolved in our shop drawings before anything is cut, every panel is folded in our Sydney workshop, and our own crews install it.

The family roofing trade begins in Europe, where zinc and copper roofs are a standard building material. Three generations of roofers will follow.

Our founder learns folded metal roofing and facade work in Europe: standing seam, flat lock and hand formed detailing.
2008
The first two on the tools
Two people in Revesby
Roofing Group opens in a 150 m² workshop in Revesby with two people, the owner included, bringing European style zinc, copper and standing seam work to Sydney.

Residential craft
High end homes across the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West and North Shore build the reputation, from heritage residences in Mosman to waterfront homes in Drummoyne.

Sugarcube Apartments, Erskineville
The Sugarcube Apartments in Erskineville, built by Hamilton Marino, were our first big break.

VMZINC recommended installer
Zinc projects installed to the manufacturer’s requirements now qualify for a 50-year material warranty, on top of our 8-year workmanship warranty.
2019Green Square Apartments
Our first apartment facade
Facade work on apartment buildings begins. Zinc and aluminium facades follow, including Green Square Apartments in VMZINC Pigmento and Sommar in Mosman.
2020The Sydney workshop
Sixteen people, one Sydney workshop
With the team at 16, we move into a 2,000 m² facility in Sydney. Drafting, fabrication and QA now sit under one roof.

Our fabrication facility gives us complete control over quality, accuracy and lead times, so projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
